American + Muslim
Asalaam Alaikum (Peace be with you),
A few months ago, I was contacted by a sister by the name of Salmaa Elsanshory about writing an article about what it meant to be American and Muslim for a new website called DefineUs.com . Her idea was to present a diverse, pluralistic American face to the public about the need for religious tolerance and unity in the face of rampant ignorance, intolerance and hate.
The piece I have written for her is from the perspective of what it means to be a Muslim professor of American politics in the current landscape. Allah SWT inspired me to write this piece and may only He be pleased with the work. You can check out the essay here.
